In Germany, the team worked hard, driven by Garcia’s determination and the steady progress of rookie Pawelec, who gritted his teeth and pushed through to the finish line despite back pain.
The German Grand Prix weekend was a tough test for the Italjet Gresini Moto2 team, with a technically demanding and complex race. Sergio Garcia demonstrated a strong pace in Q1, narrowly missing direct qualification for Q2 and showing flashes of speed, despite a crash that limited his prospects in the following session. During the race, he struggled with braking and was unable to ride as he would have liked. This relegated him to 21st place and made the points zone, which had initially been within reach, a distant goal.
Meanwhile, Milan Pawelec experienced a weekend of intense learning. The young rider grappled with an unfamiliar and very demanding track and did not give up, even when back pain set in halfway through the race. Pawelec finished the race in 23rd place, confirming his desire to clock up mileage and gain valuable experience on the world stage.
The team will now use the summer break to recharge; the next Moto2 round takes place from 7–9 August, when they will return to the historic Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix.
