The team persevered through Lopez’s injury and the harsh weather conditions at Brno and Assen: Garcia fought hard and staged a determined comeback, while the very young Pawelec impressed with his quick learning.

June began with another crucial three-race stretch for Moto2. Three Grand Prix races in quick succession plunged the teams straight into the heart of the European season, requiring maximum focus in order to optimise their efforts and secure valuable championship points.

The weekend at Balaton proved challenging for Team Italjet Gresini Moto2. Alonso López managed to overcome a difficult start, advancing from Q1 to start eighth on the grid, and finishing the race in eighth place, earning valuable championship points despite a lack of rear-end grip. Meanwhile, it was an uphill battle for Sergio Garcia: struggling with a lack of feel for the bike and severe pain in his forearm, the Spanish rider started in 25th place and crossed the finish line in 20th, enduring the pain as he awaited the necessary medical examinations.

The Brno weekend saw the Italjet Gresini Moto2 team face an unprecedented situation due to an injury to Alonso Lopez, who was declared unfit after FP1 due to a fracture in his right hand. He was replaced by young rookie Milan Pawelec, who quickly adapted to the bike and made a positive debut, finishing the race in 25th place after pushing hard in the early laps. Sergio Garcia, on the other hand, had a weekend marked by steady improvement: after dominating Q1 to secure a spot in Q2, a challenging second session and a penalty forced him to start from the back of the grid. In the race, however, the Spaniard displayed excellent pace, staging a solid comeback to seventeenth place and narrowly missing the points zone.

The intense heat and scorching asphalt in Assen made the Dutch Grand Prix a tough race for Team Italjet Gresini Moto2. The team struggled with challenging track conditions that made tyre management particularly difficult. Sergio Garcia found it difficult to get a feel for the front tyre. After a qualifying session complicated by yellow flags, which forced him to start from 20th on the grid, the Spaniard managed to gain several places, however, a long-lap penalty late in the race dropped him back to 21st place. For Milan Pawelec it was a race focused on learning and progress. He continued to develop in the category, achieving consistent improvements in lap times throughout the sessions, and ultimately crossing the finish line in 23rd place, gathering important data for the future.

Now that this intense race series is over, Moto2 is taking a weekend off. The Italjet Gresini Moto2 Team will be back on the Sachsenring circuit for the German Grand Prix from 11 to 13 July.
