The Spaniard’s first extraordinary victory shines a spotlight on the team’s month, rounded out by the comeback at Assen and Piqueras’ return to the points.

June began with another crucial three-race stretch for Moto2. Three Grand Prix races in quick succession plunged the teams straight into the heart of the European season, requiring maximum focus in order to optimise their efforts and secure valuable championship points.

The weekend in Hungary proved to be a tough challenge for the MSi Racing Team. After advancing directly to Q2 in qualifying, Ivan Ortolá crashed on the first lap without setting a time. Meanwhile, Angel Piqueras chose to sit out in agreement with the team and Dr Charte to avoid risking a relapse in his recovery. On Sunday, despite showing good pace in the race, Ortolá was unfortunately forced to retire due to contact with another rider, bringing the team’s unlucky weekend to a premature end.

The race in Brno brought immense joy to the MSi Racing Team, thanks to an extraordinary performance by Ivan Ortolá. After securing sixth place in qualifying, the Spaniard achieved a remarkable feat in the race: despite having to serve a long-lap penalty, he maintained an unbeatable pace to secure his first victory in the intermediate class. Angel Piqueras also showed encouraging signs of progress, completing all sessions and the race in 23rd position after qualifying in 20th place. This was a crucial step forward in regaining his feel for the bike and his physical fitness on the Moto2 machine.

The month concluded with a weekend of solid, consistent performances for the MSi Racing Team at Assen. Despite a challenging qualifying session that saw him start in sixteenth place, Ortolá once again demonstrated his talent on Sunday, staging a remarkable comeback to secure fifth place and earn valuable championship points. Angel Piqueras also had reason to celebrate: after posting the nineteenth-fastest time in qualifying, the rider took a crucial step forward by finishing the race in fourteenth place — a result that allowed him to score his first points since his injury and confirm a decidedly positive trend.

Now that this intense race series is over, Moto2 is taking a weekend off. The MSi Racing Team will be back on the Sachsenring circuit for the German Grand Prix from 11 to 13 July.
