he 2026 Moto2 World Championship season officially began at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram. The Thai Grand Prix marked the beginning of an intense year with 22 races on the calendar. This technical and physical marathon will take the teams around the world, wrapping up as usual in November at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

The MSi Racing Team arrived at the first round with a new lineup consisting of two Spaniards: Ivàn Ortolá and Angel Piqueras.

The race was red-flagged on lap four following a serious crash involving Alonso, Agius and Salac. Fortunately, all riders were declared conscious after a few minutes, and the race was restarted. However, the second start led to another dangerous incident, with Garcia crashing and his bike hitting Lunetta. The red flag was shown once again. The third start proved to be the decisive one, with Guevara getting the best launch ahead of Gonzalez, Holgado and Ortola.

In a race shortened to seven laps, the leading quartet pushed hard throughout the entire distance, without having to manage tyre wear, quickly opening a gap over the rest of the field.

Ortola fought until the very end but was unable to secure a podium finish.

Unlucky race for his teammate Ángel Piqueras, who crashed in the early stages of the race and was forced to retire.
