August was a month of hard work for the whole team in preparation for the Austrian Grand Prix and the brand new Hungarian Grand Prix at the Balaton Park circuit,  unknown territory for everyone.

Moto2 returned to the track after the summer break, starting again at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. It was a promising beginning for Team Italjet Gresini Moto2, with both riders feeling positive about the bike despite the necessary setup work.

Albert Arenas finished qualifying in seventh position, knowing he could have gone faster in the session. He proved himself right when he finished fourth in the race. He was happy, but not totally satisfied, as he came extremely close to reaching the third step of the podium.

It was a more challenging weekend for Darryn Binder, who was suffering from a stomach virus. Starting in twenty-fourth position, he managed to climb up to fifteenth, a very satisfactory result, given his health issues.

In the second Grand Prix of the month, Team Italjet Gresini Moto2 competed at the Balaton Park circuit, which was new to everyone as it was a recent addition to the MotoGP calendar.

Arenas struggled to find the optimal set-up to enable him to ride quickly, missing Q1 by just 71 thousandths of a second. Saturday was no better, with Albert qualifying in twenty-fourth position. He then fought his way back up to fourteenth place in the race — a good result, given how difficult it is to overtake on the Hungarian track.

Darryn Binder had another unlucky weekend. Despite making great progress in qualifying, his race was cut short when he collided with another rider at the start, forcing him to pit to check the condition of his bike. The rider was unable to resume the race and ended his Hungarian Grand Prix early.

The next Moto2 event is the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona on 5–7 September.
